Tree Trimming

tree trimming, trim a treeCertified Arborists understand how each tree species will react to different types of tree trimming. Arborists must understand tree biology and their requirements in order to optimize the health and structure of trees through pruning. Most regular maintenance tree trimming can be done at any time of the year. If you have questions concerning time of year for tree trimming, Austin Complete Trees Service is here to help you remove those unwanted branches and limbs. Remember, no branch should be removed without a reason.

  • Crown “Clean-Out”
The removal of dead, dying, crossover, weakly attached branches and sprouts from a tree’s canopy. Crown clean-out is the most popular of our tree pruning procedures.
  • Crown Elevation
Removal of the lower limbs of a tree in order to provide clearance for driveways, walkways, homes and buildings.
  • Crown Reduction
Pruning back leaders to lateral branches to reduce height and/or width of tree. In most cases, this procedure is only done as a last resort to prevent complete removal of the tree. An example of this would be when a tree is growing under electrical lines and the customer does not wish to remove the tree.
  • Vista Pruning
Tree trimming in which the customer would like to create a view. For an example: Customer would like to see the lake and tree branches are obstructing their view or a business in which their business sign needs to be noticed from the road and tree branches are inhibiting this.
  • Ball Moss Removal
Ball Moss removal is a standard part of tree trimming/pruning as well. Ball Moss is not harmful to the tree but it can be unsightly and therefore desirable to have it trimmed out, the foliage production is greatly enhanced.
  • Cabling & Bracing
Involves the installation of high strength cables and/or threaded rod to increase structural integrity in trees. This is done with limbs growing at odd angles, co-dominant limbs with a weak attachment, limbs that have split and would like to prevent further cracking therefore the cables are installed to restrict movement and to take weight off the split attachment. Most of the time the tree will be pruned prior to cabling.
  • Insect & Disease Management
We are licensed by the Texas Department of Agriculture to spray trees to control insects and disease. We have spray systems that can reach far up into a trees canopy to reach even the highest tree limbs. Some typical sprays we do are for oak leaf caterpillars in the Spring, pecan webworms and aphid control. We also treat for fungal problems and oak wilt. Please call if you need any of these services or if a tree is sick. (see Expert Diagnostics).
